/opt is missing

$ apt-cache search google earth
$

Google Earth is not "in" Ubuntu - at least not yet :)
Or do you have a magic sources.list ? ( I have multiverse, commercial,
main and universe )

( Yes I know you can install it - actually mine is in my $HOME directory,
so it isn't in /opt here ;-)

Nevertheless, /opt should always be present, even if empty!
