nope 2.6.15-26 686 kernel works fine here on via hardware. (integrated
sound, video and all the trimmings), so the problem may not be as
widespread as you think. 

Plus can I say this is getting dull, the bug is in Malone, and has been
assigned, it awaits triage, and then will be pushed out. I see no
further benefit in continuing to go over this. If you must continue this
can you do so on sounder.
