This is absolutely correct and it also shows that personal
preferences are _luckily_ different.
For my part, I prefer to have a clean deb install, which allows
me to do a clean deb removeal, shold I wish to do so.
Although Alien for sure is not the "tool for anything", it
sort of proofed it's value to me, when I firstly converted
OpenOffice rpms to deb and used them to replace the unstable
OOorg 1.9x on Breezy. Since then, I use it for
OpenOffice and VMware Player, Workstation, Server and Console and
again, I never had a single problem whatsoever. Nowadays, of
course, the OpenOffice 2.03 version is in the repositories and
hopefully vmware server will also be there soon. Then Alien will
loose it's importance for me.
