Installing Putty?

Most of the time I just go:

  Applications->Accessories->Terminal

and type 'ssh user at example.com'.  

  paul at katu:~$ sudo apt-get install putty
  Password:
  ...
  Get: 1 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com edgy/universe putty-tools 0.58-4 [680kB]
  Get: 2 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com edgy/universe putty 0.58-4 [277kB]
  Fetched 958kB in 1s (723kB/s)
  ...
  Setting up putty (0.58-4) ...
  $ putty

and we'll try to track down your issue with you.
