how to upgrade from 6.06 to 6.06.1 using apt

Following this thread I am confused.  I have VIA hardware, have upgraded
to 6.06.1, have  the 2.6.15-26-k7 kernel and don't have any problems
(well, my splash screen has disappeared into parts unknown).  Is this
because I already use the K-7 kernel?  Am I somehow just a lucky fellow?
