There will always be hardware that refuses to boot Ubuntu. There's not 
much that can be done about that.

Many of us [volunteer devs] don't have the resources to follow every 
single thread. Unfortunate but true.

I suggest you take the initiative and generate a patch against the 
current Dapper linux-source [and post it to kernel-team] so that our 
kernel lead can apply it.
