According to <http://www.dslreports.com/reviews/1646> MSN 9 does not support
POP3; you have to use Hotmail to get your email.

And according to <http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/faq> you can't use
Thunderbird to access Hotmail, so the answer is "no".
