Multiple file clean up

actually, multiple e-mails.
somehow, occasionally, my evolution will lose synchronization with my
pop servers (my university and gmail) and re-download TONS of messages.
while having a way to PREVENT this asap would be great, i also have a
LOT of double, triple, and quadruple messages eating up disk space. how
do i find them and delete them?
