well,as long as the lan connection works i wouldnt worry about it,because i get that sometimes too and it doesnt pose a problem if you just ignore it.

Subject: Gnome Network-Admin Applet

Hello,

I've manually changed my IP address from dynamic to static as I
described here:
http://sc0ri0n.blogspot.com/2006/08/configuring-ip-address-in-ubuntu.html

I have no problem connecting to internet or other boxes on my LAN but I
am quite annoyed that the network icon on the upper right corner shows a
little red exclamation sign and when hovered it reads "No network
connection".

Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Adil
