Synaptic problem - "The package jedit needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it"

Hi,

I downloaded jedit .deb version and tried installing it. The installation
failed and since then I can't run updates or synaptic for I always receive
this error:

"The package jedit needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for
it."

I tried "apt-get remove jedit" but it doesn't do the job. In fact, no matter
how I run apt-get, I always get the same error.

Any idea on how to remove jedit package?

Thanks,
Marius Hanganu
