Add "File Roller"/"Archive Manager" to right-click on Desktop

Ubuntu Users,

I can right click on the Desktop and under "Create Document..." I can
create a new "empty file". If I open that empty file, it's opened with
Gedit and treated like a text file.

I'd like to be able right click on my desktop and be able to select
something like "new archive" or something, and either create a tar.gz
file, or be taken immediately to the Archive Manager interface.

How can I do that?

And while I'm at it, I can't seem to find the "Archive Manger" program
in any of the Gnome Panel menus. How do people usually start it when
they want to create an archive?

Thank you for your time and advice.
