Activate in network-admin

My ndiswrapper crashes occasionally, so i have hacked together a script to
remove and reinsert the module then restart the networking stack. The
problem is that I can only actually get the wireless card to reconnect by
going into the network-admin gui and pressing the "Activate" button.

What command does this run that I could use in a shell script? - ifup,
ifdown and restarting /etc/init.d/networking does not seem to have the
desired effect.
