Make a snapshot volume. ;)
The trick is, that you create a snapshot volume and you
make your backup from the snapshot volume; ie. *NOT* from
the original lv!

"lvcreate --help" is also helpful - see "-s" or "--snapshot"
And "man lvcreate" is also good to know ;)
