PCI-USB interface adapter

Dear all,

I have an old Pentium III on which Ubuntu runs just fine. Unfortunately
the machine has only USB 1.1 ports. Because I often use an external USB
(2.0) hard disk I want to buy a PCI-USB (2.0) interface adapter. Does
anybody know which adapters are best compatible with Ubuntu or is it
possible to use all available adapter cards without having kernel driver
problems?

Cheers
Bernd
