On the following setup:
Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.11rc4 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux spyker 2.6.17 #1 Thu Jul 27 22:41:08 SAST 2006 x86_64
Config options: 0
Installed drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation
Card config:
HDA NVidia at 0xfead8000 irq 209
Audio devices:
0: ALC880 Analog (DUPLEX)
Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
Timers:
7: system timer
Mixers:
0: Realtek ALC880
I can play music using xfmedia or xmms, but I cannot record anything
although the microphone is working (I have feedback through the
speakers).
Audacity, gnusound, asound, gnome-sound-recorder and krec does not
record anything. In krec the "record" button is greyed out. I have
tried alsa, esd and oss.
Also "saytime" just produces output on the screen without an error
message but nou output through the speakers.
Ekiga's sound is unusable.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Johann
