It is device 0:

$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Headset        ]: USB-Audio - Logitech USB Headset
                     Logitech Logitech USB Headset at usb-0000:00:1d.2-1, full speed
1 [I82801DBICH4   ]: ICH4 - Intel 82801DB-ICH4
                     Intel 82801DB-ICH4 with AD1981B at 0xfe500400, irq 209

In fact, when I unplug it, device 0 disappears and the on-board sound
remains as device 1 and now doesn't work!

Do I need extra packages for this?
