Generally, if you want to use the hardware raid, you would
want to setup the raid controller in its bios screen.  Then
you would install Ubuntu like normal.  The raid controller
will present the raid as one device and Ubuntu will be
non-the-wiser unless your controller comes with some raid
tools that allow linux to see whats happening underneath.
Without knowing the chipset of the raid controller, I can't
tell you if that is the case or not.
