Well, *I* understood this from your first note, and I have been 
wondering while reading this thread, if other people really read 
what you write.

I'm glad you started this conversation, because I often need to 
talk with people about "Why is Linux better?" or "Why choose 
Linux?" and security issues are part of the answer. Given my 
ignorance of technical matters, having some answers in plain 
English to common arguments will be a great help.

I really liked the scenarios you (Daniel) presented in another 
note on this thread: typical questions with answers. I hope this 
discussion will continue to help fill in the blanks on the answers.
