I've heard people argue that as if it didn't matter that there were
fewer Linux virus writers. It might not matter if you're making an
academic comparison of OS designs, but it matters hugely in practice.
In a related vein, security by obscurity won't protect you from
determined experts, but it can sure convince a lot of less determined
and less expert baddies to look for more familiar terrain elsewhere.
