zd1211 driver to be updated?

Hello all and developers,

I'm using a GW-US54GZL wireless adaptor with my laptop.
It is supported by the latest version of zd1211 driver. However,
zd1211 in ubuntu is still 2005 and does not identify the USB id
of my adaptor.

Is it possible for developers to update the driver to the latest
verson? Or is there any concern on updating the driver?
