Can we all stop talking about Microsoft, please? A few
reasons:
1) We have plenty enough work to do making our own stuff
good; we don't have time to trash on others.
2) To quote Peter Whysall from the linux-elitists list [1]:
> I get the warm and fuzzies hearing about how
> standards-compliant, Free
> software rocks. I don't get them from hearing about
> proprietary,
> non-standards-compliant software sucks.
>
> Make me warm and fuzzy, Shlomi.
3) The last time anyone said anything new about Microsoft
was 1990. Yes, I know they're a bunch of monopolistic
bastards blah blah blah. The last time anyone said
anything *interesting* about Microsoft was ... possibly
never.
4) We shouldn't be using their software. I have been using
nothing but Linux products for my personal use for at
least three years with virtually no problems -- and
certainly no more problems than I would have had with
Windows. Ever since I got a Unix sysadmin job, I have
been using Free tools all the time. We've long since
passed the point where we even need to think about
Windows. So let's not think about Windows.
There's much more to say, but how about we just leave it at
that? Windows sucks, Linux rules, and let's get on with our
lives. We have work to do making the world safe for free
software.
