This was one thing that was a minor disappointment when I migrated to Linux
from OS/2; I couldn't find any decent fax software. Under OS/2, I used a
package called FaxWorks for many years for sending and receiving faxes on my
PC, and it was really convenient. But it is not such a big deal now since
the fax has largely been replaced by email.

(Yes, I realize there was a Linux port of FaxWorks but it was orphaned years
ago.)
