Dapper upgrade fails

But as i see, gdm fails because it doesn't have a core pointer (gdm
doesn't find a mouse to use).



For me, the problem was with the new kernel, it didn't detect my mouse,
so at /dev i didn't have an /input/mice entry.



if you're booting using 2.6.12, that's why it doesn't work with 2.6.15
either, right?



well... i'm not a linux expert, but i would try other kernel versions
from repositories, and see if there's anything pointing to a mouse at
/dev (maybe mouse, psaux....)



For me, when i resolved my problems with the kernel, my mouse got
recognized and could login to gdm, then reinstall all the packages that
were corrupted.
