Ok, I think I got it. displayconfig-restore fails because of a missing
import. Add "import syslog" and restart X -> Fonts are nice again.
The small fonts are due to a wrong DPI-Value in X. Xorg can't read the
display size on my laptop and sets DPI to 75, but it should be 96. That's
also the reason why not everyone encountered this problem, most displays
return a proper DPI-Value.
As for the people using Gnome: I don't think this bug is affecting you. There
are some similar bugs for fontconfig or firefox opened, please have a look
at them.

I made line 21 of 'displayconfig-restore' import syslog ...and it works.
