I use rdesktop to a Win2k3 terminal server, and text cut&paste works
both ways. It may depend on how locked down the terminal server is as
well if it works or not. And I did not have to play with xclipboard at
all to get anything working.

Select the text in either gedit or kate, ctrl-c, then go into the remote
session and do ctrl-v in a text editor. If it doesn't work, check with
the terminal server admin if it is a restriction on the terminal server.
