lftp rocks, if you're not afraid of CLI tools.
If you'd prefer a GUI, you realize Nautilus can do FTP natively, right?
Just pop open any Nautilus window, Ctrl-L to enter a location, and type
"ftp://some.host.org/".
You can also use Places->Connect to Server and select FTP (with login),
and whatever you choose as the "name to use for connection" will end up
in your Places menu.
