Setting up a second monitor

Okay! I've now got the second monitor mirroring my laptop
display. :-D

When I wake up a bit more and have done the morning chores, I'll 
get on to the next step, installing Xinerama and editing the conf 
file. I see lots of notes on this list from Daniel and others who 
are helping him to set up a similar system. I'll let you know how 
I go, but I may not get to it for a few hours.
