Dapper Beta printer installation fails

Thanks for responding. I had already thought of that, and I have also (in
addition to trying to do it via localhost:631) tried to do it with the 
lpadmin and (sudo) foomatic-configure commands. In all cases, sooner or
later, there is a "413 Request Entity Too Large" message -- in short no
printing. With foomatic-configure the printer does indeed show up in the
Gnome Printer View window, but printing with it fails with the above error
message. 

Mind you, I can appreciate that things get broken once-in-a-while when
trying to make printer installation noob-proof, and we don't have final
Dapper release. My worry (and disappointment) stems mainly from the very
un-Linux way of preventing non-noob users from doing it the directly, 
even when motivated by security issues.
