This is either a software or controllerless modem FM56 has several subtypes:

BUT be warned there is no free versionof a driver for this type.
Linuxant has trial versions limited to 14400.
It will cost for full speed.

Linuxant has an agreement with conextant so these would probably be the best 
to use. I got source for my ibook modems from them but I believe they have 
binaries for X86.
