brltty consuming way too much memory

I tried "locate brltty", and it showed that the binary is
at:  /sbin/brltty

It also shows: 

/etc/init.d/brltty
/etc/rcS.d/S25brltty

So, I launched "BUM", but somehow as you said... it doesn't show up in
the list !

I guess a very dirty "sudo chmod -x /etc/init.d/brltty" would do the
trick, until the devs sort it out more gracefully ;-)
