Just to clarify this,

Ubuntu's default package set uses Gnome.

Kubuntu is the underlying ubuntu system with a KDE desktop and KDE
optimised tools

Xubuntu is like KDE but with XFCE and light applications (for older
PC's).

The name 'Breezy' is the nickname given to the release 5.10 - the
current stable release. (Just as Warty was the first release, Hoary the
second and Dapper will be the next).
