Difference of Ubuntu to Other Linux Distribution

VERY similar.  Actually a lot of the commands are the same or similar
even with non-Linux operating systems such as Unix and FreeBSD. 

What differs is the set of software provided, the 'look & feel' of the
provided graphical environment, some of the graphical tools to
administer the system, the system (sub) folders where components are
kept, the way software and system components are installed, and so on. 

Typically if someone is familiar with one Linux distribution, he/she
will have no trouble at all to familiarize himself/herself with another
distribution.
