no sound when playing WMV files

Hi all, This worked great for me to make the sound work on wmv files
(changing the priority to 7) but it reverts to 1 every time I reboot.



Is there a way to make it 'stick' at 7? I thought making the
catalog.cache file read-only might cause problems for running the
program.
