Game has no sound unless I sudo even though I'm in the group audio

Any ideas on this?  SuperTux, installed via apt, has no sound unless I 
start it with sudo.  Really annoying.  I'm already in the audio group  
when I type groups so does anyone happen to know what I need to do so 
that I don't have to sudo each time :-/
