It looks like software specific problem. I experienced that problem in
dia 0.94 - diagram editor. Third part of character was not combined
with first and second, thus can input only two part combind
character(syllbel) but couldn't three part combined.
Although looks slightly different with my case. Try typing in another
software input field.
Firefox, gnome-terminal, gedit, gvim, xchat, and so many gtk2 software
... that is my daily using software. LANG=ko_KR.UTF-8 or en_US.UTF-8
Anyway, Your choice is best. Although I don't using 3bul, I think
3bul(final or 390) is fast and more human compitable way in typing
Hangul.
In Korea, people that don't know about computer very well says, 'oh,
this computer has been infected with virus! keyboard is strange!' when
met 3bul input mod computer. : ) Awesome T.T
You don't need consider that other people who want using(typing) in
your computer and vice versa. : ) As you already experienced, 2bul
has 'Dokkebibul' - will-o'-the-wisp - problem. Also, I dont suggest
transcript-rule based input method like hangul romaja module. Hangul
is simple. Do not need that way. Just keep going with 3bul.
