UTF-8 in mail

I've never seen "the Vole", but, yeah, my use of "M$" drew too many
complaints about Childishness, etc., so I switched to the Big Boys'
stock market symbol which still _kinda_ makes my point that MSFT has
always been about money and not about innovation, blah, blah.

Maybe someone could explain "the Vole"?
