Dapper + Plextor PX-TV402

I have upgraded to Dapper, and am trying to get my Plextor PX-TV402
usb video converter/encoder working.  Drivers are available at
oss.wischip.com, and compile fine.

However the hotplug magic doesn't work when I plug it in, so no
modules are loaded and no firmware uploaded.  Any suggestions?
