I guess I don't understand the problem. HTML is always sent as "HTML
code." The only thing that does anything is the mail reader which is
supposed to recognize if it's HTML and display accordingly.

Am I missing the question entirely?

Have you tried sending it to yourself to see what it looks like, or is
this from sending it to the contact and him or her telling you that
the output doesn't look right?
