Question about 'aptitude'

Hey,

I just ran aptitude and it said:

The following packages are unused and will be REMOVED:
   mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb openoffice.org2-help-en-us


How does aptitude know that those packages are unused? What does it mean 
by that?
