Kubuntu is and continues to be supported by Canonical and the
community. If you want to take out a support contract with Canonical
for Kubuntu that can be done in the same way as for Ubuntu.

Both forums and documentation for Ubuntu and Kubuntu are largely
community supported, who do an excellent job.
The unanswered sysadmin request that caused the message on kubuntu.de
has now been answered, so problem solved.
