Adding KDE removes GNOME (ubuntu-desktop)

Hi all,
Greets !

I'm using Ubuntu. I love GNOME but wanted to try KDE also. I have
downloaded Debian Testing-etch DVDs. Wheneven I try to add KDE-base
packages using aptitude it informs that ubuntu-desktop is going to be
removed.

Isn't there a way to keep both GNOME and KDE?
