Nautilus: disabling PDF file thumbnails selectively ?

Hi,
I love it when Nautilus shows thumbnails for pics and videos, very
practical. However, I hate it when it thumbnails PDF files.
Nautilus is capable of acting selectively depending on the file type: in
the Preferences dialog you can fine tune the behaviour independently for
Text files, Sound files, and the other files.
So is there a way, probably obscure but I don't mind, to get Nautilus to
special case PDF files so as to not thumbnail/preview them ?
Ideally, would be greatif Nautilus could adopt the plug-in system that
Epiphany and Gedit already use, so that one can extend its possibilities
when needed. For example we could have a plug-in that let's you fine
tune the thumbnail policy, for every file type.
