You do realize that Edubuntu is not "for kids" but "for schools".
Edubuntu is a thin-client solution. You setup a server and can have a
whole classroom with 30 boxes booting from the Edubuntu server. I know
because I set it up for a local school late last year.
But any ways, if your kids love the games, who am I to argue? :) I
guess that if I had kids I would give them Edubuntu too. I just wanted
to make sure you know who Edubuntu is aimed at.
As for myself, I only use Ubuntu. My girlfriend says she'll try Ubuntu
but right now she's quite happy with Mandriva. We've had a few rpm vs
deb arguments :) My employer is on Mandriva too. My mom uses Windows
mostly, but she has to boot into Ubuntu to Skype me because we couldn't
get Skype working on Windows.
Cheers,
Daniel.
