Folks ---
cc: Russ, James

I posted a similar problem as this one... after an upgrade to Breezy( 5.10) my eth0 device is not brought up at boot nor have I been able to get it to come up manually. It worked fine under Hoary (5.04). The CD I used for the upgrade was shipped from Cannonical Ltd.

lspci shows it to be:

0000:00:09.0 Ethernet controller: Lite-On Communications Inc LNE100TX (rev 20)

ifconfig eth0 shows:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:CC:26:CB:BD
          BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
           collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
          Interrupt:14 Base address:0xb800

The dmesg file contains information that the Tulip driver is being loaded... yet only lo is listed by ifconfig w/o the eth0 device being included.

What has happened?

Kind regards,
Jay
