Hi,

I got stumped a while on a similar problem. It turned out the card was
simply not powered on, and Fn-F2 wouldn't turn it on (as I had assumed).
As soon as I rebooted and powerd it on in the BIOS setup it worked fine.
(I have a Dell 1450 instead of a 1350. I use Dell's drivers R102318 and
I was using Debian sarge at the time.)

The strangest when that happehed to me is that iwconfig would set the
channel (but not the ESSID). It would print something like this:

    wlan0 IEEE 802.11a ESSID:"fbwifi"
                  Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point:
00:00:00:00:00:00
                  ...

i.e. it would report a "802.11a" with a channel corresponding to
802.11g. Freaked me out for a few days...

Good luck,

Fil
