I used to be able to use ndiswrapper and Dell's 1350 802.11 b/g ndis
driver under Hoary, and it all worked fine.
I'm running Colony 5, all current updates, and it just doesn't want to
work. I'm running stock ndiswrapper 1.1 built into Breezy. I've never
had to hand-compile the kernel for my drivers in previous versions of
Ubuntu.
I've done the following:
extracted Windows drivers
ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf (installs fine)
ndiswrapper -l (shows it installed, hardware present)
modprobe ndiswrapper (says it's loaded)
running network-config - set essid, set DHCP, activate, set wlan0 as
default internet gateway...
No IP received from DHCP (wireless monitor shows good signal from AP).
Setting a static IP does no good either.
Ethernet works perfectly.
Is there a problem with Breezy & ndiswrapper right now?
