I find Open Source Development with CVS an excellent
resource. Easy and fast. With good and simple advice.

Enable the universe repo, then:

sudo apt-get install cvsbook
<your password>

Then point your browser to /usr/share/doc/cvsbook/cvsbook_toc.html
