similar maybe, but the grade of efficiency is.. amazing. Try starting
some large game (i.e. nwn) on linux or windows. You will note that
reloading stuff from disk under linux is a _lot_ faster while under
windows you'll even have problems noticing a difference at all.

VFS is one of linux advantages vs. windows.
