Hello Vishwajeet
it saves your machine from unnecessarily becoming exploited. you only need  
running root if it is necessary.
as 'normal' user (default user by installation), you can do root stuff by  
the command 'sudo'. or if some programs like Synaptic ask for a password,  
it will be your user-password, that gives you root privileges because the  
default user is in the sudoers.list.
