problem with instalation

hi,
 my name is sunil,i have got UBUNTU live cd (version 5.04 for intel x86)
i am a starter ,i have tryed the live cd,every thing goes fine but at last
my moniter shows OUT OF FREQUENCY SET TO LOWER RESOLUTION.i have also tryed
different mode available i.s from 0 to 6
 my system configaration are pentium 3 ,890 Mhz,256MB ram,
my moniter IBM G41 1024*786 , 24 bit ,60Hz (max)
please send me a solution for this
